My entire life I've had a great relationship with pizza.

It was probably my first true love. My dad owns a small pizzeria-- with a big reputation-- in southern Maine, where I grew up. It's called Pizza By Alex. (Alex is my dad's uncle. He started the pizzeria in 1960.) This summer marks 50 years of business (50!), and to celebrate I'm designing a commemorative t-shirt and poster series. It'll be sweet.

But this whole pizza thing is bigger than just my dad's shop. I love all pizza. I celebrate all pizza. I could talk about pizza for hours and remain excited start to finish.

Some people love their pets, I love pizza.
(unfortunately, I never really had a pet, besides a short-lived gold fish named 'Snapper' in 2nd grade.)

So I've decided it's about time to do something creative involving pizza and this good ole' brain of mine. It will probably involve doodles, photographs, reviews, and maybe some video footage if I get ahold of a camera or bring on another pizza-loving force who has one.

This is THE PIZZA PROJECT.
Bon app├ętit.

50TH ANNIVERSARY T-SHIRTS ARE IN!

Collaborated with my buddy Val Volkova on one of the 2 selected designs. Designs came out awesome, the screen printer messed up printing, but whatever. Pics will be up soon!

Round 1: BROOKLYN'S BEST

I think I'm going to make an entirely separate page for this project...

-First official visit: CHECK.
-Rating system is in development. It includes the basic sections, i.e., food, service, ambiance, etc, plus a few curve-balls for good measure.
-Graphics, illustrations, photos are next.

"The percentage of mistakes in quick decisions is no greater than in long-drawn-out vacillation, and the effect of decisiveness itself 'makes things go' and creates confidence."

-- Anne O'Hare McCormick (1882-1954), First woman to win a Pulitzer prize for journalism

The decision to go forth with the Pizza Project is made official.
Stay tuned.
